Application Extent of Total Quality Management at Taiz University and Its Impact on the Job Satisfaction of Its Administrative Staffs

Abstract

The study aims to identify the reality of the application of total quality management at Taiz University and its impact on job satisfaction for its administrative staff.

     The study population consists of 305 administrative staff at Taiz University, and the sample size is 170 informants selected by the simple random method. 170 questionnaires were distributed to the sample members 151 were retrieved from them, and 9 were excluded because they were not suitable for statistical analysis. Accordingly, the sample on which the statistical analysis has been conducted is 142 male and female employees.

The study has used the descriptive approach and a number of statistical methods have been used, such as mean, standard deviation, Pearson correlation coefficient, simple and multiple linear regression.

The most important findings of the study are:

1- The total quality management at Taiz University is applied with a medium degree

2 - The level of job satisfaction for administrative staff at Taiz University is high.

3 - There is a moderate direct relationship between the application of total quality management and the job satisfaction of its administrative staff.

4 - There is an impact of the dimensions of total quality management that are represented by strategic planning, human resources, and continuous improvement on the job satisfaction of employees, while there is no impact of the dimension of top management commitment on job satisfaction.

The most notable recommendations are:

1 - Taiz University needs to exert more efforts in the application of total quality management because of its importance to enhance the employees job satisfaction.

2 –The leadership of university has to pay attention to give financial motivations to departments and administrative units that are distinguished in the application of total quality.

3- The University of Taiz should continuously spread the culture of quality among employees
